Introduction - 2SQD Investment Strategy

Hi Everyone, this is my first time on this new website so I thought I'd pop a quick post to introduce myself and what I do! I currently own a property deal sourcing company based in Leeds and we work with investors to help source them properties to use alongside something called the 2SQD strategy. This is a recession proof property investment strategy that provides returns similar to those produced by HMO's as it allows us to almost double the rental income of a standard single-let property.

new to business and looking for some friendly advice on selling from home

Hi, I have been creating ornaments/decorations for a family members wedding. Decorative lights and ornaments that can be put on dining tables, window ledges etc As the wedding has now been postponed due to covid a family member uploaded photos of the decorations to the social media profile and now I’ve had a few relatives/friends asking to buy some, I originally said that I would give them away. But more people asked and now I don’t have enough so will need to buy materials and make some more, now I am considering charging for the decorations to make up for my time/materials.

What has been your experience of using a career coach?

Have you ever used a career or personal coach, how was the experience? Do you feel it was worth it, how did it help you? I am deciding where I need to go now and what my best career path is. Will a career coach help to get me in the right direction, what can I expect? I had a career advisor at school, not sure if it's the same sort of thing. When I was in final year and deciding on what to do after school everybody in my year had a 1-to-1 with an advisor for 20-30 minutes.

Can I use a famous fictional character in my company name?

A business partners last name is Picard. We’re an electrical/hardware manufacturer. My concern is that if we name our self after Picard, my business partners name, we might get some trouble from Star Trek, one of the leading characters is called Jean Luc Picard. In concept, I don’t feel as though we would have any problems calling our business Picard Electrics or something along the lines of that, but if we start showing pictures of drones people might think we are infringing on Star Trek.

Looking for partner for beauty spa business

I am an experienced spa manager and have funds in place lease several units across the south of UK which I intend to convert in to beauty spas. I will lease 1 or 2 to start with once they are up and running will lease more. Citibank employees given day off for working harder than ever

Approximately 200,000 Citibank workers have been told they can have an extra day off, this Friday. This comes after the CEO praised employees for working “harder than ever” during the coronavirus crisis. The staff, of which 80% work from home were told to take the extra day “to relax and enjoy time with your families”.

Looking for an interior designer in hospitality sector

Looking for somebody who has experience in Autocad and knowledge of photoshop to help with the interior decorations and fixtures of a few small properties. I am working for a small company in the hospitality sector we are in the process of redeveloping a few properties the structure will remain as it is but the interiors of all properties will need to be refurbished. It would be good if you could travel to the sites on rare occasions when needed, however given the current situations we may be able to send a video of the current interior if needed.

Sole trader with 2 businesses

Hi I am a sole trader running two separate businesses. Combined they have a turnover of over £80,000. Do I have to be VAT registered or can I register one of them as LTD company and run the other as a sole trader and treat them as two separate entities? Thanks
